I had a thought. Say someone wears a positively charged suit and stands between two equally negatively charged plates: would that person feel being stretched out (force from both sides), or would he/she not feel the force at all because the net field is zero. I must know..... for science.
Good question. If the plates are much larger than the person then the E-field b/t the plates will be very small (almost cancel); otherwise the E-field will be dominated by that from the closer plate thus the suit will be stretched out
